Seems like you didn't at all read my comment stating that it is not at all a matter of individual choices, nor adoption of avoidance: the elimination of the technological capacity to ravage Nature will solve the problem, and that can be imposed by a very few who are willing.

There wasn't widespread agreement by 8B individuals to slow the global economy in 2020, instead a very few people in the Chinese govt. imposed shutdowns of the technological ability to conduct global commerce (which requires the killing of Nature) and that rippled a worldwide effect.
