If Technology can prevent or even delay that doom, it benefits - and this makes me skeptical of plausible doomsday scenarios. Tech approaches autonomy and renewable, limitless means of electrical power are being provided; a machine superspecies is being created, and I see no beneficial utility to that new species in tolerating a free, unmanaged human population. If Technology's advance is allowed to continue, I see your scenarios less likely to result than that humanity is erased by Technology made fully autonomous.
