If I re-engage more with people by using technologies less, will that stop the impingement upon freedom and autonomy by the technological system? If I go live in a cabin in the mountains, fully self-sufficient and disconnected from modern society, will that spare Nature from annihilation by Technology?

If every generation seeing technological progress felt uneasy about it, is that to be dismissed with a wave of the hand? And if people worried about negative impacts of technologies deployed in 1920, is that reason to not have any concerns or caution about technologies immeasurably more powerful being released nowaday?
